How We Live
A Structured Home Built for Recovery
Serenity Sisters provides a safe, drug-free and alcohol-free residential environment with clear expectations, peer accountability, and a faith-centered community that supports lasting change.
Important to Know
What We Are — and What We Are Not
Serenity Sisters is a structured sober living home. We are not a treatment center, detox facility, medical program, or clinical service provider. We do not offer therapy, medication management, or mental health treatment. Residents are encouraged to continue working with their treatment providers, counselors, and support networks while living with us. Our role is to provide the safe, structured, accountable home environment that makes recovery sustainable.
Our Home
The Serenity Sisters Environment
Our home is designed to feel like exactly that — a home. Clean, welcoming, and peaceful. Residents share common spaces, meals, and the daily rhythms of structured living. We maintain a drug-free and alcohol-free environment at all times, and all residents are expected to uphold this standard without exception. Random drug and alcohol testing is conducted as part of our accountability structure.
Structure & Accountability
House Rules & Expectations
Clear expectations are an act of care. Our house rules exist to protect every resident and maintain the safe, stable environment that makes recovery possible.
Sobriety
All residents must maintain complete sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Any use or possession is grounds for immediate discharge.
Curfew
Residents are expected to observe house curfew. Curfew times are communicated during the admissions process and may be adjusted based on individual progress.
House Meetings
Attendance at scheduled house meetings is required. These meetings build community, address house matters, and provide a space for shared accountability.
Employment & Education
Residents are expected to actively pursue employment, education, or a structured recovery program within a reasonable timeframe of moving in. We support residents in taking meaningful steps toward independence.
Household Responsibilities
Every resident contributes to the upkeep of the home. Chores are assigned and rotated fairly. A clean, orderly home is a shared responsibility.
Visitors
Visitors are permitted in designated areas during approved hours. Overnight guests are not permitted. All visitor policies are communicated during the admissions process.
Respect
All residents and staff are to be treated with respect at all times. Harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Financial Responsibility
Residents are responsible for paying their program fees on time. Financial accountability is part of the structure that supports independence.
Sisterhood
Peer Community & Sisterhood
One of the most powerful aspects of sober living is the community itself. At Serenity Sisters, residents are not strangers sharing a house — they are women walking the same road, holding each other accountable, celebrating each other's milestones, and showing up for one another on the hard days. This sisterhood is not incidental. It is intentional. We cultivate a culture of mutual encouragement, honest accountability, and genuine care.
Our Foundation
Faith-Centered Living
Our home is Christ-centered, and that shapes everything from how we treat one another to how we approach the challenges of recovery. Residents are encouraged to engage with their faith, participate in Bible study and prayer, and connect with local faith communities. We believe that spiritual growth is a vital part of whole-person healing, and we create space for that growth to happen naturally and without pressure.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." — Philippians 4:13
